Ann began her journey in the healthcare and coding education environment when she began studying Health Policy and Administration as a student at The Pennsylvania State University. She was a member of the Phi Gamma Nu business fraternity, and remains active in the fraternity today, mentoring current members, and speaking to current students. Ann used her Bachelor of Science degree to drive a career in medical coding and billing, and eventually involvement in recruiting, training of both coders and providers, and management of medical coding teams. She has managed large teams of HCC coders for a multi-million-dollar corporation, and has educated providers and coders at a large teaching hospital, among other ventures and enterprises. Ann has been an active member of the AAPC since 2005, when she became a Certified Professional Coder (CPC). She’s also earned her Certified Risk Coder (CRC) certification through the AAPC, which drove her passion to create and present HCC coding material to aspiring and seasoned coders. Ann’s desire to help coders to career success is the driving force behind her education and teaching, and that desire grows with every success story!
